FESTIVALS GALORE

Another typical New Orleans October weekend (except that our Saints have a bye):  free festivals, concerts, and beautiful, warm days.

Back and forth again today between the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival in Lafayette Square downtown and the Louisiana Seafood Festival in Woldenberg Park on the river.  It's only a 15-minute stroll between both lovely areas.

Last night the Blues Fest ended with bluesman Chris Thomas King belting away old favorites.  His bassist was phenomenal as well.  (Did you know King played Mississippi minstrel Tommy in the film, "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" with George Clooney and New Orleans ambassador John Goodman?)

Drago's BBQ oysters were the best of the Seafood Fest yesterday but today I have a lot more dishes to try.  Enjoyed John Besh at the cooking demo tent.  And was that solo Sean Payton I bumped into?
