THE FESTIVAL CITY - BUT THERE IS NO FESTIVAL "SEASON"

With the 2 weekend-long huge New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival following so closely on the heels of the now larger French Quarter Festival, no wonder some call this the Festival Season.  Marketing for sure, but New Orleans prides itself on being a year-round festival city - even during our wet and sweltering summers.  Hundreds of festivals abound locally and nearby touting the virtues of crawfish and crabs, mirlitons and tomatoes, zydeco and blues, voodoo and whodo, film and literature.  And from 12th Night in early January through December.  Let's eradicate "festival season" and simply say, FESTIVAL CITY.
